(A) Classification of rubber formulations
According to the different uses of rubber products formulations can be divided into the following three types.
1. Basic formula (standard formula)
The basic formula, also known as the standard formula, is generally used for the identification of raw rubber and compounding agent. When using a raw rubber or compound for the first time, use the basic formula to test its basic processing properties and physical properties. The design principle of the basic formula is to use the traditional amount of the compound in order to compare with similar materials in the past; the formula should be simplified as much as possible, including only the basic components that can reflect the basic process properties of the rubber and the basic physical properties of the vulcanized rubber, which can reflect the basic process properties of the rubber (such as Menny viscosity, Menny scorch, etc.) and the basic physical properties of the vulcanized rubber Physical properties (such as hardness, tensile strength, constant tensile stress, elongation at break, etc.). It can be said that these basic components are indispensable. The basic formulations of different sectors are often different, but the basic formulations of the same rubber species are basically similar.
Natural rubber, isoprene rubber, chloroprene rubber and other crystalline rubber with the ability to self-5 reinforcement, the base formula: r can be used without reinforcing agent with pure rubber, while the general synthetic rubber with pure rubber, its strength is too low to reflect the practical situation, so to add reinforcing agent. At present, the more representative base formula is the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) as the standard proposed for all kinds of rubber products base formula. Unit accumulated experience data as the basis, while analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of similar products and similar products of the current production formula to design the basic formula.
2. Performance formula (technical formula)
In order to make rubber products to achieve certain performance requirements and the formulation design, the purpose is to meet the performance requirements of the product and processing process requirements, improve certain characteristics, etc.. The performance formula should be based on the basic formula, and the collocation of various properties should be considered comprehensively to meet the requirements of the use conditions of the products. Usually the test formulations made by the formulation designers in the laboratory for product development are performance formulations, and performance formulations are one of the most used formulations by the formulation designers.
